A descender for single or double rope, 8-13mm. The user may choose between 3 different friction / braking settings. Two supplementary braking spurs allow friction to be increased during descent. A 12mm carabiner fits tightly in the hole, creating a rigid unit. Stays securely attached to the harness during rigging to help prevent loss. Greatly reduces the risk of excessive leverage on the carabiner gate (from poor positioning). The rope runs through the attached carabiner thus minimizing the chance of forming a lark’s head knot around the PIRANA, dropping the descender, and avoids girth hitch formation. Tight interface between the PIRANA and carabiner maintains noise discipline. Individually tested.
